Sonoma County Juvenile Center

Nestled between vineyards, a regional park and an upscale retirement community, the Sonoma Juvenile Justice Center is a highly visible complex. It includes the juvenile court, the juvenile probation office, and the secure detention facility which were sensitively designed to harmonize with the Sonoma vernacular. The two-story courthouse has two courtrooms while the detention facility houses 140 beds in 20-bed pods, along with educational, healthcare and activity programs. The project was awarded “Best Institutional Design” by California Construction Magazine.
