UCSF Rutter Center Remedy

Ricardo Legorreta designed the Rutter Center, a signature four-story conference and recreation center at the UCSF Mission Bay campus that includes a fitness complex, indoor and rooftop pools, a conference facility, activity center, pub, and student services. It is a prominent architectural feature and, as such, the remedies proposed on this project had to maintain the architectural integrity of the building while bringing the building performance up to UCSF standards.

The Design Partnership worked closely with West Bay Builders as part of a design-build team to meet the demanding schedule while maintaining minimal impact on the daily operations of the facility as it was occupied during construction. Our team focused on providing remedies for the poor performance of various building systems including HVAC, finishes, and waterproofing.
